Rusholme Retreat are lovely luxury holiday cottages set in the heart of Yorkshire, there is a wealth of different things to do while staying with us suitable for a variety of ages from historical landmarks, days out for the kids and local pubs, bars and resturants.

Selby Abbey

At over 900 years old Selby Abbey really is one of the most amazing churches to be found in the UK and one of the few surviving abbey churches from the medievil period. Visited from all corners of the earth it stands overlooking the small market town of Selby

Open for all visitors 10.00am to 4.00pm Daily.

York

The closest City to Rusholme Retreat is York. This walled City will make you feel like you are stepping back in town with the cobbled streets and the breathtaking historic buildings such as York Minster, The Shambles and York Castle to name a few. Other attractions here include the National Railway Museum, Jorvick Viking Centre and with 365 pubs across the centre will never leave you short of activities on a day out.

Carlton Towers

Just down the road from Rusholme Retreat is the magnificant Grade I listed country house of Carlton Towers, still occupied by it’s owner and Family, as well as becoming a popular wedding venue, Carlton Towers is also open to the public offering Afternoon Tea, Food and private events as well as wine tasting and tours around it’s very own vinyard.

Black Dog

The Black Dog Inn is a traditional family-run pub and restaurant in the nearby village of Camblesforth. They offer a full range of great pub food that is all cooked fresh on-site. The Black Dog Inn Sunday lunch always come heavily recommneded.

The Peppered Pig

The Peppered Pig is a stunning restaurant that prides itself on serving locally sourced, seasonal food. as well as the beautiful indoor and outdoor eating settings The Peppered Pig also has a Deli Counter full of culinary delights.

Williams Den

Williams Den is the perfect place for a family adventure and day out, offering a vast indoor and outdoor play area boasting 2 miles of woodland trails and walks as well as serving great food including home made icecream and a pizza oven on site.

Xscape

Xscape really does have everything you need for a great day out all under one roof. Famous for its real snow skiing slope but has many other things to entertain the full family including a cinema, bowling alley, rock climbing wall, Golf in the dark and several resturants.

Drax

0.2 miles

Drax is the closest village to Rusholme, boasting Millenium walks as well as the picturesque Barlow Nature Reserve with fishing facilities. Drax village also has a sports and social club as well as the Huntsman pub for a well deserved drink after the lovely walks.

Snaith

4 miles

Only 10 minutes down the road, there are plenty of things going on in Snaith, extremely popular is The Kitchen shop and tea rooms.  To add to this there is a handful of lovely pubs and restaurants including and Indian and Chinese.
